'Adam's Family' by Brian Dooley |
After been saved from Purgatory by Mitchell, Annie goes overboard with gratitude, appointing herself as his guardian angel and then helping him get a job as a hospital cleaner. Now branded ‘Most Wanted Man in the Country’ by the media, Mitchell is approached by Richard Hargreaves, who brings him an offer to join the vampire elite in South America. Meanwhile, at the hospital, George and Nina encounter a teenage vampire named Adam – who is in fact forty-six – feeding from one of the patients; the man is Adam’s father, who has been providing his son with blood for the last thirty-odd years. Deciding to look after Adam until his father gets better, Nina and George bring the boy home, but the potty-mouthed vampire’s presence doesn’t go down well with Mitchell and Annie. When Adam’s father dies, Mitchell takes the boy to live with Richard and his wife, Emma, who offer a life of luxury and decadence. But is that really the life Adam wants…?
